Capt. Mike Pastore is a full time U.S. Coast Guard Federally Licensed Captain and Guide. He has over 45 years fishing experience, 34 of those professionally, and has spent tens of thousands of hours on Lake Ontario and the New York State Finger Lakes. Through the years, his efforts have produced a documented track record that very few Captains could hope to achieve. He has appeared in numerous national and regional publications, such as Field & Stream, Outdoor Life and New York Sportsman, just to name a few. He also has a long list of accomplishments to his credit.
  • 1st Place in the Prestigious Lake Ontario Pro-Am Salmon Team Tournament, as well as placing in the top 10 in the majority of all tournaments he's ever fished.
  • Over 110 Derby Prize winning fish have been taken aboard the Rodmaster by Capt. Mike's clients - 6 of them 1st place division winners!
  • Master Angler Award Winner -- In Fisherman Magazine.
  • A multi-species fishing guide in addition to trout and salmon. He also offers custom casting trips for pike, bass, walleye and muskie on the inland waters of New York State, including the 1000 Islands, the Finger Lakes and the Bays of Lake Ontario.
  • Capt. Mike is a conservationist committed to a quality lake fishery and a vibrant Great Lakes Ecosystem.
  • An avid hunter and a booking agent/guide for large and small game hunting trips across the United States.
  • Capt. Mike is actively involved in and donates to quality conservation groups such as the International Game Fish Association, Ducks Unlimited, The Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, The Foundation for North American Wild Sheep and Safari Club International.

I grew up fishing Lake Ontario, since the inception of the trout and salmon program, and I’ve guided thousands of successful fishing trips on Lake Ontario and on the NYS Finger Lakes as well. This has given me a tremendous amount of diversity, which has contributed to my success. I’ve spent countless hours refining tactics, techniques and equipment, and have learned how to deal with all the factors that contribute to catching trophy fish consistently – day in, day out. Fishing is not what I chose as an occupation - I don’t view this as my ‘job’ – it is what I was born to do! You will quickly see why 110% effort is the RODMASTER trademark.
